Protein purification is a crucial step for projects involving research on structural and
functional properties. The quality of the protein cannot be compromised. We offer a
comprehensive service of purification of proteins up to the highest level of purity
required. Our experienced biochemists specialise in gene expression and protein
purification from E. coli.

Customer provides:

• An expression vector carrying the gene encoding the protein of interest.
• Instructions and requirements on gene expression and protein purification.

Our Service includes:

• Gene sequencing (optional);
• Gene expression trial for evaluation of solubility and yield of protein as well as the scale of the following steps;
• Producing biomass in a fermenter of a size corresponding to the required quantity of the protein (1—100 L)
• Trial protein purification to establish the strategy and evaluate the cost of bulk steps, (at this point we inform the customer about overall cost of the purification)
• Large scale protein purification. For bulk orders, purity higher than 95%
  can normally be achieved after a minimum of 3 chromatography steps.

Customer receives:

• Protein of the required amount and quality: ready for downstream applications.

Price Guide

Price greatly depends on the protein type and required quantity and quality.

The average 3 chromatography steps for purification of protein including biomass growing will cost:

• £1200 – for protein from 1-2 L of medium;
• £2500 – from 4-5 L, and
• £3500 – from 9-10 L of medium.

We also require refundable (in case of project continuation) prepayment for evaluation of gene expression and protein purification in analytical quantities (ca. 10% of the total project value).
